Topic: These days, environmental problems are becoming more common.
Private citizens and businesses have just as responsibility in protecting the environment as governments.
How much do you agree?
In recent decades, environmental issues are one of the most challenges in almost every country due to its substantial impact on human life. Although some people argue that governments play a big role in protecting the environment, there still are workable solutions that can be applied by both individuals and government. However, I believe that individuals should be more responsible rather than the government’s actions.
Regarding the duties of governments, it is true to say that governments have been playing a big role in environmental protection. For example, they have created a variety of environmental laws to require people engaging in polluting activities to make a progressive environmental improvement. However, the fact of the matter is that some companies still are allowed to use chemical fertilizers and pesticides without any punishments because of the lack of control in the regulation.
On the other hand, human impact on the environment should be more considered than the government’s duties. Firstly, although environmental problems are not an easy task for individuals to deal with, people can actually take up some good habits to enhance the environment in daily life. For example, we can bring recycle bags to cut down the plastic bags instead. Secondly, it can be clear that not every business has committed to environmental initiatives. For example, manufacturers should attempt to a sustainable development rather make a huge profit. Therefore, they can also create a great reputation in public and make a big impact on society besides being profitable.
In conclusion, the importance of who should take the responsibilities in protecting the environment may be debatable. Governments and individuals are both play a vital role in environmental protection. However, as far as I am concerned, human beings should be more responsible to make a better world.
