Thank you in advance for your help!Topic: Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology.Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. It has been a controversial topic for years about which subject to choose for university students. Although there are good arguments in favour of learning useful subjects such as science and technology, I personally believe that it is much more beneficial to let students study what they prefer.Many people argue that there are various reasons to require students to study useful subjects. One of which is a wide range of job opportunities and a progressive career path for scientists or mathematicians or technologists in the future, particularly in this 21st century with the development of The Fourth Industrial Revolution. Moreover, a new generation full of students that graduate from those fields might be able to resolve intractable problems related to healthcare, education and environment. The living standard of these countries, therefore, is likely to be raised significantly due to a great deal of students choosing useful subjects for the future.However, it is also necessary to leave students to their own devices on choosing the subjects to study. The first and perhaps most important reason is that studying a subject that students enjoy could optimize their potential, to some extent a musical student could only be found gifted if she studies music instead of computer science. In addition, subjects like art and literature should not be underestimated as they play an important role in people’s spiritual life. Furthermore, the workforce should be balanced in all sorts of fields so that the competition in job seeking could be equal, or else there would be a redundant number of scientists and a lack of artist.To conclude, while many people said that students should have the rights to choose their own subjects, others argued that it is a need to make useful subjects compulsory for every student. In my opinion, students should be allowed to study whatever they like.

It has been a controversial topic for years about which subject to choose for university students. (I believe this is an exaggeration. People don't go into heated debates over what majors students decide to study. In your essays, avoid overstatements and exaggerations. Instead, speak from your own experience and knowledge. In my personal experience, it is the parents who admonish their kids not to major in art or history, but business or engineering. I would remove this sentence. ) Although there are good arguments in favour of learning useful subjects such as science and technology, I personally believe that it is much more beneficial to let students study what they prefer.
