IELTS Writing Task 2 - DEFORESTATION

Problem: Deforestation caused by human activity is happening in many parts of the world, with serious results for the environment. What do you think can be done to solve this problem?

Answer:

Deforestation has been currently spreading throughout the globe, which causes myriad harmful effects on the habitats of species and the human living environment. Thus, it is essential to conduct immediately a variety of preservation solutions in order to retain the lungs of the earth and environmental wellness.

Wood industry might contribute a great deal of benefits to the development of a nation. However, in order to grow sustainably and maintain an intact environment for future generation, government in each country needs to impose strict regulations on logging to inhibit the excessive exploitation of wood. Applying stiffer penalties for illegal logging and destruction of forests is also imperative to reinforce the compliance of forest protection laws.

In terms of society, there must be an extensive propagation of the significance of forests combining with campaigns which promote awareness of environmental issues to the public. People should be educated to respect the natural environment as well as the meaningful existence of woodlands to our planet from an early age. As a result, a sense of responsibility for safeguarding forests will be established in communities and measures for forest conservation not only gain greater support but also are practised widely. One of the most practical and effective actions that all people can undertake is reusing the products made from wood components such as paper, packages, crates, furniture and lumber. These products are also able to be recycled, which makes a substantial contribution to the reduction of wood consumption.

In conclusion, every part of the world should assume responsibility for obstructing deforestation because forests are a wonderful gift for our planet which helps sustain the biodiversity and environmental well-being. Saving forests is saving the earth.
