Some people believe famous peoples support towards international aid organizations draws attention to problems. Others think celebrities make the problems less important. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Write at least 250 words.

People have different views about whether well-known people’s involvement in global aid organizations has positive or negative impacts. While some people suppose that their participation could downplay the significance of issues, I believe that this trend would bring positive and significant changes in society.

On the one hand, there are many different reasons why celebrities could lessen the importance of problems. Firstly, most people often consider the main purpose of famous people’s support as a way to enhance their reputations. This means that in an effort to attract the attention of society, a huge number of personalities try to take part in volunteer projects as much as possible without any particular passion or interest in it. Secondly, the association with famous people could trivialize the serious works of international aid organizations. This is due to public attention could be shifted away from this endeavor to reputation and public image of the celebrities getting involved in. Therefore, we usually question their motives for their participation.

On the other hand, I believe that well-known people would bring meaningful changes to social activities. First, they have a huge amount of fans, who are inspired by them. For instance, when famous Vietnamese female singer, My Tam, participated in the project of helping poor children who have disadvantage situations in remote areas, thousands of young people who come from fan clubs took part in this project through donating money and doing volunteer works thanks to her encouragement. In addition, famous people often are trusted by the international and national communities, this leads to success in raising the profile of aid organizations. Consequently, more people learn about projects, donating money and volunteer to help either practically or in fund-raising.

In conclusion, although there are some drawbacks to celebrities taking part in international aid organizations, I believe that it is more advantageous for society if they participate in volunteering.
