IELTS Writing Task 2 (2)

Some people think that teachers at school are more responsible for children’s intellectual and social development than parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What is your personal opinion?

It is frequently asserted that instructors are more accountable than parents for the cognitive and social development of pupils. Given that teachers are well-trained to conduct formal classes, I wholeheartedly concur with this idea. In addition, school is the finest setting for kids to interact with others and develop new acquaintances.

It is common knowledge that parents are crucial to their children's upbringing. However, educating them only at home does not always guarantee that they will have a successful future. It is crucial to provide children with a formal education because of this. This is when school teachers come into play. In addition to offering a comfortable setting for learning, most schools regularly train and update their faculty in a variety of modern teaching techniques. This method has long been used to make sure that students are capable of adjusting to technological changes. Additionally, hands-on activities and lab experiments dramatically improve students' problem-solving, logical reasoning, and thinking skills.

In terms of the social element, children learn how to engage with classmates at school. Depending on their interests, they are also provided with a variety of extracurricular activities in addition to their everyday interactions in class. These include, to name a few, scouting, athletic events, and other organizations. These activities essentially improve teamwork, camaraderie, and leadership qualities that cannot necessarily be learned at home alone. Therefore, it is not unexpected that schools are where the majority of friendships begin. In general, I firmly believe that mentors play a more important role than parents when it comes to developing the entire intellectual and social abilities of adolescents. It's because they have received specialized training to do it.
