IELTS WRITING TASK 2.

Schools are having severe problems with students’ behaviors. What are the causes? What solutions do you suggest?

In the education setting, schools are often troubled with the student’s inappropriate manners, which can be ascribed to the inertia in regulations and lack of emotional care from teachers. However, with certain steps, these problems can be solved comprehensively.

Students’ misbehavior can be attributed to several reasons. First, a fixed set of rules can prompt schoolchildren to behave badly. Since school rules are not regularly redressed, they can become obsolete and contain fallacies. Indeed, such inaccuracies can inadvertently breed students’ opposition and outrage. Second, schools are also beset by students with mental problems, indicated by instances of acute depression and suicides. This is partly because many teachers are negligent in their students’ thinking and mental states, not supporting them mentally when needed. Thus, these adversely affected students will potentially make mindless decisions, resulting in self-harm or suicide.

Nonetheless, although these problems may appear intractable, they can be effectively tackled by schools’ willingness to listen to students and teachers' special training. Regarding the former one, by being open to students’ feedback and thoughts, schools can be more proactive in modifying the principles. Consequently, there is no ulterior motive for students to break the law, hence their tendency to behave well. In terms of training, teachers should learn how to support mentally affected students properly, for example by being more understanding and caring for them. This means they can trust their teachers and then vent their insecurities or pessimistic feelings, which allows educators to be prepared for the worst-case scenario.

In conclusion, there are two reasons for students’ misbehaving, including the inflexibility of regulations and educators’ negligence. Nonetheless, by keeping an open mind to students’ ideas and educating teachers on how to deal with mentally afflicted students, these problems can be addressed.

P/s: In the previous post, I was told to avoid redundancy and wordiness. I have tried to shorten this essay to keep it as succinct as possible. However, perhaps, there still remain numerous errors so it would be very kind of you to help me point them out.
