Many parents these days work in other countries, taking their families with them. Do you think the advantages of the development outweigh its disadvantages?
In this highly globalized society, many people choose to relocate their residence in another country with the hope of a better life. Therefore, many parents tend to find employment in other nations and take their families within. Personally, I believe that the merits of this trend, namely a better life for both parents and their families, outweigh the demerits, including racial discrimination.
One of the cogent benefits of parents’ relocating their families to foreign countries with their families is that this trend can allow parents to advance their careers. Undoubtedly, many people often choose to work in other countries for the job prospects offered to them. This means that parents will likely secure well-paid jobs or further their career paths more easily, for example, so they are the ones who stand to gain. Consequently, such conditions can somehow improve their job satisfaction, enabling them to lead a rewarding and satisfying life.
A further advantage of the tendency for parents to work overseas and take their families within is that it can be conducive to their children in various aspects. When living in another environment, children will likely have more scope for self-improvement. For example, they can be raised and nurtured in a more creative and ideal environment, which can make them better-prepared for their futures.
However, there are certain drawbacks to this trend, one of which is discrimination. Due to cultural and racial differences, parents and children can be discriminated against by the native people. For example, Asian families are often insulted for their appearances. This can be exacerbated when Asian workers are possibly mistreated by their managers and children are school-bullied by their Western peers.
In conclusion, I firmly maintain that the upsides of parents’ working in other nations and taking their families with them, namely job prospects and better environments, can eclipse the downsides, in terms of possible discrimination. However, with proper and sufficient education, certain discrimination-oriented daily situations can be avoided.
