Task 2: (Opinion) Some people claim that museums and art galleries are not needed today, because everyone can see historical objects or artworks by computer. Do you agree or disagree?
It is sometimes argued that museums and art galleries are unnecessary these days because of virtual historical objects and artworks. In my opinion, I totally disagree with this view.
For a variety of reasons, it would be wrong to marginalize the need for museums and art galleries. Firstly, many antiques require a safe place to protect them from burglary. It could be explained by the fact that historical objects and artworks which were made several centuries ago are precious and considered a treasure of time. As a result, museums and galleries with high-quality security systems are integral. Secondly, museums and art galleries play an important role in attracting tourists from all over the world because foreigners often have the tendency to visit these places to understand the native culture instead of watching them online which they could do from home. Consequently, museums and galleries could be a place to propagate history and national culture to the world.
Nevertheless, I believe that virtual exhibitions sometimes couldn’t reflect the real value of historical objects and artworks because those exhibitions depend on many factors such as the quality of photos or the quality of wifi connection. As a result, people are likely to experience low-quality online exhibitions of those antiques which are much more valuable and beautiful in the real life.
In conclusion, for the reason I have mentioned above, I maintain that although everyone can see historical objects or artworks on their computers, the existence of museums and art galleries is undeniable. It is advisable that museums and galleries should be maintained to protect antiques and propagate their real value.
