Topic: In spite of the advances made in agriculture, many people around the world still go hungry. Why is this the case? What can be done about this problem?

People in some parts of the world are still starving despite recent developments in the agricultural sector. There are some factors leading to this issue. However, we can mitigate starvation with joint efforts and effective measures.

The problem of starvation despite advancements in agriculture is caused by two things. The first reason is that modern agricultural practices invented in developed countries can be ineffective and impractical in some poorer nations. For plants to grow and animals to be raised for food, we need ideal weather conditions like adequate rain, sunshine, and fertile soil. Nevertheless, in regions like Africa, those prerequisites are barely found, so people cannot grow their own food and as a result, go hungry frequently. Moreover, some farmers have financial difficulties and cannot afford everyday food, let alone cutting-edge technologies on their farms. Conventional farming methods cannot help them grow enough food to supply themselves with sufficient to eat year round.

We can do two things to solve the worldwide starvation problem. First, developed nations should work harder to figure out the types of plants that survive harsh conditions and farming methods that are effective and productive even without good weather and soil. Then, they should share these discoveries with poor countries and help them grow food. Another solution would require governments to lend money to farmers in need so they can purchase modern machines and apply advanced methods to farming to produce enough crops for their families. If this can be done, food insecurity and starvation can be alleviated.

In conclusion, starvation is a consequence of bad conditions which are unsuitable for agriculture and a lack of money to invest in farming advancements. To reduce food scarcity and hunger across the globe, we need joint efforts of more developed countries and financial aid from governments to farmers.
