Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Each gender should have similar opportunities in accepting into universities in every subject. I completely agree with the idea of gender-balanced participation of students in universities.
For so long, there are widespread gender discrimination against women in accepting into universities and job market. Unfortunately, in some majors there are more seats for males than females and there is a gender bias against women in fields such as mechanics and engineering. So, universities ignore women's capabilities just due to their gender which I think is wrong. Accepting in universities should not be gender based and it should be based on accepting the capable individuals and the best candidates due to their resume.
I believe that all humans should have equal rights and chances in order to continue their higher education. Moreover, different occupations are no longer gender related and it is proven that women have the same skills and abilities as men in different fields. So, there should be equal seats in universities for both genders. For instance, my friend was really interested in mechanics, but she was worried that she would not be able to enter the university in order to study her passion just because of the gender bias in society and a few number of women's seats in this major in universities, so she had to study twice his brother, who also was interested in mechanics, to get into university and she is now a successful mechanic.
In conclusion, my view is that universities should prepare equal opportunities for both genders in order to continue their education.
