Hello! I'm preparing for my IELTS exam. Please help me to evaluate the writing, can i get band 7?
Some people think that languages should be taught in a small class, but others believe that the number of students does not matter. Discuss both and present your opinion.
It is true that languages are taught in almost schools and private centres. Although it can be argued that the size of class does not have any impacts on what students would learn at centres, I believe that a small class will be better for children.
There are several reasons why learning a dialect without regard to the number of students does not matter. Firstly, most places where students have lessons in languages, they are taught to study new words, and try to memorise as many new words as possible, make sentences or paragraphs with right grammatical rules. Therefore, no matter how many learners are in a classroom, it could not affect the contents that are conveyed by teachers. Secondly, languages are a means of communication, and they need to have partners to practice what they learnt, so as many as numbers of students, they could have more chances to improve their communication skills.
Despite the above arguments, I believe that it would be more efficient to study languages with a small number of students. Young people could grasp the knowledges and listen carefully all things teachers explain. It is because of small numbers of people, teachers and tutors can easily supervise and thorough supports for each of member in class, and make sure children do not lose their concentration on lessons. If there are lots of members in a class, the classroom would be noisy, and those who are weak at the subject unable to be supported at the right time. This could lead to bad results in their studying. By opening a learning environment with less students, it can assure teaching and learning qualities for every single student.
In conclusion, it seems to have less impact on the subject contents if a language class is maintained in a huge number of members, but in the long term this would have extremely negative impacts on students’ acquisition of knowledge
