My essay:
It is sometimes said that the advent of social networking sites has deeply infiltrated everyone’s life and affect the ways that people interact with their friends and community. However, I believe that they have had both positive and negative impacts on individuals and society as a whole.
With regards to individuals, social media has had on each individual because of its many advantages. First and foremost, the internet allows business people in different countries to interact without ever they are meeting each other, regardless of where they are such as Facebook, Skype, Zoom, or various apps. This could be appropriate for family members who are migrated due to employment or study abroad, as well as for organizations that conduct foreign business. Secondly, by live-streaming platforms, study sessions are regularly held on social networking websites. Thus, it helps students can conversational exchanges via video callings or other instant messaging platforms with an instructor in another city or in the world.
On the other hand, these sites also have significant negative consequences. First, many people can waste a great deal of time sharing their feelings and thoughts with virtual friends than family members because of the constant distraction social media provides. Second, individuals may be victims of online contact violence, such as bullying and harassment. It would be bad enough to be cyberbullied by one kid and no one else heard about it, so a video viewed by hundreds of thousands of your classmates, for example, might be devastating. These symptoms may trigger mood swings, sleep disruptions, appetite changes, and potentially dangerous activities such as cutting or suicidal thoughts or acts.
In conclusion, for the reasons mentioned above, social networking sites have brought individuals closer together, it has some considerable adverse effects on both individuals and society if we are over-reliant on this way of communication.
