IELTS WRITING TASK 2

Topic: Some people think that it is necessary to travel abroad to learn about other countries, but other people think that it is not necessary to travel abroad because all the information can be seen at TV and the internet. Discuss both opinions and give your own opinion.

We are living in a modernly technological society with lots of high – tech equipments allowing us to experience and travel elsewhere from home. But for me, I believe that it will be very hard to describe and share enough the feeling and experience only through TV and the internet to each others.

It cannot be denied that TV and the internet are the cheapest and most convenient way to travel to another country. From my point of view, However, we don’t see about the aspects of sharing and feeling of each others are different from every contents on TV or the internet. For example, an introverted person seem to be more interested in scenes or contents like natural and scenery integrated with baroque music. In contrast, extrovert people tend to be more suitable with scenes or contents about outdoor or crowded activities. Therefore, we have to be wait or read so much to meet our requirement. Secondly, at TV and the internet we need to consider about how exactly the information goes. It would be very funny if pictures of a country align with contents of another as an example. Once the information is not true, it will be a bad effect to both viewers and tourist destinations.

On the contrary, travelling abroad is so costly but everything we touches always makes us satisfied. When we go abroad directly, we can choose and consider all of aspects of the place where we go in an active way. For instance, we have a trip to Tokyo which is famous for cherry blossom, Japanese tea ceremony and night’s life activities. All of that references can be easy to look for on the internet and TV show programs. In that way, however, we cannot find out the difference in cuisine and culture of each alleys in Tokyo. As a consequence, Travelling abroad is really a dominant choice if we want to interact with all of hidden features not revealed before.

In conclusion, Having a broad trip seem to be an entire way if we want to learn about other countries. However, people with limited incomes can choose travelling on their smartphone as an low-cost way for abroad experience. In the future, both of this kind of travelling maybe will become more and more popular when the corona pandemic are unstable of each countries.
