Task 2: Nowadays, there is a trend that media reports focus on problems and emergencies rather than positive development. Some people think it is harmful to individuals and to society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

There has been some discussion about the tendency of news media. Some people believe that a focus on issues and emergencies might bring negative impacts to people. Although this trend can be positive, I would argue that media coverage about problems and urgent issues are more beneficial. It is true that overwhelming bad news exerts some detrimental effects. Reporting on crime will affect to sinner's life and personal information. Consequently, the sinners which was released might be discriminate. In addition, hearing too much bad news can lead to a pessimistic view of their country. Citizens may lost faith in the government and blame their authorities for many unwarranted reasons.

However, one cannot deny the fact that news related to issues and emergencies is advantageous in various ways. Bad news make a significant contribution to enhance people's awareness. The more negative stories appear in the media, the higher chance that people aware of those problems. For instance, by hearing about accidents caused by drunk drivers, they will obey the rules of road safety. Moreover, media is the voice of the public and as such it is their duty to highlight the problems plaguing the society. Only then the authorities have to wake up and do something to resolve the issues.

All things considered, it is my strong belief that reporting all of problems and urgent issues does more good than harm. Accordingly, the comprehensive development of our society will be ensured.
