Psychologists have known for many years that color can affect how people feel. For this reason, attention should be given to color schemes when decorating places such as offices and hospitals.

How true is this statement?

How far does color influence people’s health and capacity for work?

My essay:

It is hypothesized that every color affects the mood states of the viewers, however, its utility tremendously overestimated. While other people assume that various shades are artistically arranged in order not only to make an esthetic feel for the house but also to affect the well-being and efficiency of both people who used the facility.

On the one hand, there are two significant reasons why psychologists assume that people should use the appropriate color to decorate areas, namely offices and hospitals. First of all, the public health service should be located in a pleasant position, have a friendly atmosphere and suitable lighting to make people feel better about it. For example, color, such as white and green, is one of the supporting factors when used as an appropriate point of the building when using treatments to patients. Red color gives a sensation of physical courage and violet gives a sense of calmness. Moreover, government agencies are mostly painted with light contrast colors which are believed to create fresh thinking in the midst of overwhelming work pressure.

On the other hand, as regards the hospital’s decoration, colors are mainly used for medical uses. The white or gray shades are widely utilized in hospital spaces because hospitals seem to be in white in order to represent silence and cleanliness. Therefore, patients' tend to be confident about the treatment provided and feels mentally healthy. Having supposed that, certain parts of the hospital are the opposite. Moreover, children need some kind of entertainment, and walls painted in bright reds and oranges with pictures and posters will do that. In the same way, doctors and nurses would welcome a brighter atmosphere when they call for a break from work.

In conclusion, there are a number of reasons why people would use the proper color to decorate areas. The colors of the room somehow exert invisible forces on people’s work and welfare, so there may be a beneficial impact on human life.
