Ielts writing task 2

Theoretical subjects should not be taught at university because most students have chosen practical subjects, To what extend do you agree or disagree.

Nowadays, education has gained popularity. Some people believe that academic subjects should be demolished in university and instead university should teach practical subject. I totally agree with this statement.

Firstly, practical education captures the student’s interest as compared to simply reading and remembering from a book. In fact, when students are allowed to do something with what they have learned, they are likely to be more interested in learning. Moreover, giving a practical activity to check their theoretical concepts, they more likely to do it since it is more captivating and helps them retain the information better.

Secondly, putting theory in practise is the best way to learn. This learning approach allows students to test what they have read about in the book. Since, it is trigger their curiosity and a love of learning in students, which is slightly difficult to do with just theoretical subject. When students see for themselves what theory teach them, they are likely to remember it better.

Thirdly, practical subjects help students gain more skills and experiences. Since, students are educated to deal with real life situations. With only theory in their mind how can they know what to do in real life situation ? For example, we do not ask students to only read how to solve algebra problems, we ask them to solve it. Therefore, practical subjects are a better way to help student develop skills for their future.

In conclusion, all the opinions mentioned above make sense, and consequently, it is hard to come to an absolute conclusion . From my part, I stand up for the advantages of practical education.
