IELTS Writing Task 2

Topic:

Many young people in the workforce today change their jobs or careers every few years. What do you think are the reasons for this? Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Essay:

These days, it is argued that youngsters do not have a stable career. Instead of that, they find a new one for every few years. There are several causes that lead to this matter and personally, I believe that it is better for juveniles to experience different kinds of jobs.

The main reason why people change their jobs is that they have not found their own interest yet. To be more specific, with little to none experience, people will less likely to know what they like, especially for those who are under-graduated students, not to mention that if people have to do things that they do not love or even hate, the process will not be productive at all. Therefore, changing to another job is a compulsory thing to do. Another reason which can be mentioned is that most young people nowadays do not have a fixed accommodation. This is due to the fact that juveniles have yet to have a high income that enable them to be afford to buy a house, so they have to rent one instead. And if youngsters move to a new place that is too far from workplace, changing job is unavoidable.

There are some benefits that young people can attain when altering careers. First and foremost, youngsters may have opportunity to find a job that they are actually interested in. With trials and errors, they will be able to understand themselves and know what they are good or bad at, leading to the fact that young people can pursue their passion and work with the highest productivity. In addition, changing jobs regularly will create a precedent for their future career. The more exposed to different working environment, the more likely that juveniles will develop their ability to deal with a variety of problems when they have a stable job in the future.

All things considered, young people change their jobs or careers for every few years may be caused by several reasons, including the instability of living place and the lack of interest in their current job. As for me, I think that youngsters should try different jobs and careers in their life, because it brings a lot of forth-coming advantages for them.
