SOME PEOPLE STRONGLY OPPOSE ANIMAL EXPERIMENTATION, BELIEVING THAT IS CAUSES PAIN TO ANIMALS, WHILE SOME OTHER PEOPLE CONSIDER IT NECESSARY. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?
Essay:
Throughout the world, the animal experiment has never ceased to draw public attention and spark controversies. Although testing animals has brought a ton of benefits for human, the issue as to whether those experimentations have violated seriously morality not only on people themselves but also on animals. In the following essay, the merits and demerits of this development will be discussed.
Firstly, lots of opponents may argue that people have no right to touch to the animal’s life. This is because all animals having feelings like humans, using them as a means to serve human interests is totally wrong by virtue of the animals will suffer lots of pain, which is shown through the external wounds and the internal injuries. Studies reveal that using animals for experimentation is also separating them with their families and this heartless behavior will easily push the animal to the verge of tragedy. Secondly, the amount of animal testing is increasing for commercial purposes as the cosmetic industries have been exploiting animal experimentation for diversifying their products. This inhuman treatment should be restricted.
Animal activists may think that scientists should find the alternative methods of research for the sake of humanity in the future. However, they are ignorant of the fact that reliable alternatives may not always be available. Besides, animals are used mainly because they bear a close resemblance to humans and some animals like laboratory mice respond to external disturbances nearly in the same manner as humans do. Correspondingly, lots of new remedies were born and saved a huge number of human lives including people with terminal cancer.
In a nutshell, for a necessary evil, I would have to support a limited amount of animal experimentation in behalf of human lives and the more advanced and progressive in medical research.
