Unemployment is a serious issue throughout the world. A number of changes need to be made to reduce the problem.

What should governments do to solve this issue?

My answer:

Although the modern world has brought the diversity of benefits for people's lives over the world, it also poses numerous challenges which governments need to take responsibilities. One of the most common challenges is the growth of the unemployment rate. This essay will discuss potential solutions to mitigate this problem.

Governments should take some steps to reform the educational system because this is a significant factor in terms of deciding the number of unemployed people widely in the world. Firstly, it is necessary to figure out outstanding skills as well as the passion of every student. High schools, therefore, can help them to orientate career goals and avoid choosing the wrong major when they start studying at universities. Secondly, instead of only focusing on so much theory, higher education programs should spend more time to teach students more practical. Furthermore, some useless subjects such as Marxism and Leninism, which are still being taught in Vietnam, need to be removed. Finally, in developed countries, laboratory and library systems are outdated and cannot afford scientific research demands. Thus, governments need to invest in upgrading, expanding these systems.

On the other hand, the immigration issue happening in some countries can be seen as the main reason leads to unemployment for local people. Governments should have reasonable policies to limit the influx of immigrants. To solve this problem, the international community and powerful countries should be responsible for preventing political instability and civil war in some regions like Syria. In addition, attracting foreign investment in some developing countries has led to the flow of the foreign workers to these countries. Governments need to encourage foreign firms to use local workers rather than only use their workers. Moreover, the environment pollution caused by factories also contribute to traditional professions in this area cannot continue. It is necessary to forbid the establishment of industries in and around areas where lands are allocated for agriculture, tourism, and fishing to maintain and protect traditional jobs.

In conclusion, various measures can be undertaken by governments to stem the unemployment issue.
