Government funding in university should only be provided for scholarship for the best student. All other funding can find from student fees and private organizations. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Some people consider that the government should only provide funding for scholarships given to elite students, while other issues can be dealt with student fees and non-governmental organizations' budget. Although adhere to this rule can bring some advantages, I totally disagree with this view.

As mentioned above, outstanding students can gain more benefits from the governmental sponsorship. An example of it is that the government possibly has a better capability in choosing a good university to study, providing a sufficient budget for living, as well as guaranteeing students rewarded scholarships that they can have well-paid jobs when finishing studying abroad and coming back to the nation. Therefore, elite students can benefit many things from governmental supports.

On the other hand, that advantage is eclipsed by some drawbacks that can be formed if the government adopts this policy. First, there is a number of issues such as disease, poverty, healthcare and so on that need to be dealt with the national budget, since student fees and non-governmental organizations' money can not be affordable. Second, in some poor countries where national budget is not enough to allocate resources domestically, the government can make a approach to the outside nation for seeking financial help, which is beyond private organizers's reach. For instance, many African governments are supported by some non-profit organizations such as the WHO that has been helping citizens in treating illnesses, providing food and so on annually. Consequently, the government sponsorship can be more effective than other resources.

In conclusion, although the government can manage better at providing scholarships, they should not impose spending cuts on other domestic problems.
