Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Parents or other adult relatives should make important decisions for their (15 to 18 year-old) teenage children.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

It’s a question that should parents or adults make important decisions for their teenage children. In my point of view, I totally agree with this belief. Parents help us have a meaningful life.

To be more clear, children who are adolescent are experiencing sensitive period of life, since their whole life as an adult is laying ahead. It’s usual that majority of teenagers are not mature enough, for this reason, they need righteous directions from their parents. Some people may argue that many children at this age have ability to decide their life independently. But it’s hard to say when children are just children, who don’t have much exposure to challenges in real life as a true adults. Adolescent is regarded as a significant stage because during this lapse, teenagers need to prepare and make a plan carefully for their study, career, goals, dreams for the future. Therefore, we cannot contradict that parents’ intervention to their kids’ life is completely necessary, helpful and insightful.

In the other side, the involvement of parents in children life is under law. This is to say, parents have the right to know what their kids are going to do, how their kids are going to become in many years later, etc. In addition, teenagers who are under 18 are still under parents’ protection. The relationship between parents and children is the closest relationship, only parents comprehend their kids most and give them the most faithfully advices. Thus, mom and dad play a crucial role in shaping their children’s personality and life.
But another question exists, should parents intercede too much in children’s decisions? I think it shouldn’t be. Parents’ role is to guide children walk on right way by advice, on no account should they decide their children's entire life in every aspects. Children have their private life, soon after they will become an adult, not be dependent on anyone. They have to be responsible and manage the life on their own.
To sum up, it’s confirmed that parents have great and powerful influential on their kids life. But by the way, parents are only a part, not the protectors of their children eternal. The cleverest action is parents need to teach their children how to take care of themselves in every situations.
