Some people prefer shopping in shopping centers while others prefer local markets. What are the advantages of each? Which shopping experience do you prefer? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Answer

Humans, nowadays, are having rising demands for shopping. To meet the need of those necessities, shopping malls and the local markets have been popularized. It is acknowledged that shopping in malls is more preferential to some people, while other people are in favour of shopping in local markets. This essay will discuss advantages of both two methods.

Shopping in malls, on the one hand, offers substantial benefits. Firstly, it is straightforward and flexible to be approached in terms of location and time. As their prime locations, it will be convenient for people to commute to these places. People with hectic working schedules still have spare time at night to do some shopping as shopping malls bending open time – some are opened until midnight or some offer 24/7 services. Secondly, products in shopping malls are enormously diverse and quality-ensured. These products are systematically categorized under a roof; therefore, people can smoothly choose their suitable goods. Moreover, some shopping malls are equipped with air conditioners that make the temperature soothing, which efficiently foster the commodities’ preservation process. Thirdly, shopping malls are ideal places for entertainment activities – standing there are restaurants, play zones for children, cinemas, etc.

On the contrary, a number of people opt for the traditional market as they see particular benefits they offer. Needless to say, commodities like food in the traditional markets are fresher and more charming than those of the shopping malls, which attract buyers who are into green food. Moreover, traditional markets provide unique types of products; some are made by local residents that cannot be found in the shopping complex. Additionally, products in the local markets are comparatively cheaper than the shopping malls and sometimes there is an option of bargaining among customers and merchants, which appeals most to them.

In conclusion, it is indisputable that both shopping malls and traditional markets have their own positive benefits. In my opinion, I prefer shopping malls than local markets as the convenience and flexibility they offer.
