Ielts writing task 2

Topic: Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

The problems of children's education is currently increasing in the modern society, especially learning foreign languages. While some professors think that children should access other languages at secondary school, I would argue that the primary school is more suitable for kids.

On the one hand, there are several reasons for this viewpoint. the main reason is that in this period of time, children are old enough to not only master in their mother tongue, but also approach other one. For example, it is extremely difficult for kids who face with learning two languages at the same time. In addition, in the primary school, students should spend time for socializing with their friends, entertaining such as singing, paiting, dancing, etc.

On the other hand, I believe that kids should start learning other language as soon as possible. The first reason for this view is that young children would receive more effectively than adolescents. To give just one example, according to many studies, in the first years of their life, they can quickly get knowledge especially in languages. Secondly, at secondary school, they should spend time on concentrating on some special knowledge such as subjects at school, essential skills, etc. For instance, teenager have to practice piano or guitar, take part in so many outdoor activities, take final exam, etc.

In conclusion, whilst people think that secondary school is the best time for children to learn a different language, I would say that studying other languages in the first school might have more benefit for children.
