IELTS WRITING TASK 1_ WATER CYCLE DIAGRAM

http://ielts-simon.com/.a/6a0120a5bb05d8970c014e60c42739970c-pi

The diagram illustrates the way that water passes from the ocean to the air, land in its natural process called water cycle.

Overall, there are three stages on the diagram: ocean water evaporates, falls as rain and finally runs back to its water cycle.

Beginning at the evaporation stage, it is clear that about 80% of water vapour in air comes from the ocean and then it condenses to form clouds as the result of the sun's heat. In the precipitation stage, water falls as rain or snow.

At the third stage on this diagram, rainwater may take several paths. Some of it may fall into the lakes or creates groundwater from the surface runoff to run back to the ocean. Otherwise, salt water intrusion happens in the process after the water reaches impervious layer.
