Ielts writing task 1: Topic: The diagram below shows how sugar is produced from sugar beets

The flow chart illustrates the process of making sugar from sugar beets.

Overall, it is a linear process consisting of 9 stages, beginning with the unloading beets from a truck and ending with spinning sugar in centrifuge to crystallize sugar. Extra materials are added in several stages of the process.

In the first four stages, beets are unloaded, after which they are taken to a screening machine to shake to remove dirt and rocks. Subsequently, the beets are washed before they are cut to make cossettes.

In the last five stages, usable sugar is formed through complex processes. Sugar is extracted using hot water, milk of lime as extra material is then added to clean juice. In the next step, there is a filter to filter mixture to remove milk of lime, it then turns out pure clean sugar juice. Following this, the sugar juice is heated to evaporate water. Finally, the sugar juice is spun in centrifuge to crystallize sugar.
