IELTS WRITING TASK 1: THE BRITISH GIVE MONEY TO THE CHARITY

The bar chart illustrates how different-aged people in Britain donate their money in 1990 and in 2010.

Overall, more money is given to charity in 1990 than in 2010. Besides, looking at the chart, it is immediately obvious that people over 36 tend to contribute more.

The 18-50 age-donation in 1990 is higher than in 2010. In 1990, the least proportion was people from 18 to 25 accounting for 17 percent, and this decreased to 7 percent in 2010. During the same period, the group aged between 26 and 35 experienced a drop from 31 percent to 24 percent. The highest fraction was 36-50 age-group. This means the percentage of this group was nearly 42 in 1990 and reduced to 35 percent in 2010.

By 2010, almost 39 percent of 51-65 age-contribution is shown, which is 4 percent more than in 1990. The fingure for people over 65s was 32 percent in 1990 being lower than in 2010, at 35 percent
