The bar chart compares the distribution of male and female staff in different faculties of a university in the year 2012. Overall, gender distinction was seen in all faculties except for the medicine field. Whereas male staff members dominated in the faculties of science, business, law, and engineering, women took up most of the workforce in the other 3 categories.

Gender disparity was mostly seen in the faculty of engineering and education. Over 80% of academic staff working in engineering were male, while the proportion of female academics of the education faculty stood at nearly 80%.

In contrast, other faculties were more balanced in their composition. It is interesting to note that in medicine, the figures for female and male were quite similar, at around 50%. The faculties of business and science had the same gender distribution. Also, a small percentage of 20% more men worked as academics in law, whereas women were fairly predominant in arts, with 55% female and 45% male academics.
