IELTS Writing Task 1 Table - Please help to review

The table below gives information about changes in modes of travel in England between 1985 and 2000.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.



The table showed the information about transformation in mode of travel in England between two particular years of 1985 and 2000.

In general, the average distance by all modes of travel which counted for one person in a year increased from 4,740 miles in 1985 to 6,475 miles in 2000.

Traveling by car got the average distance of 3,199 miles per person per year, which was the highest index in 1985. At the same time, the second common mode of travel by distance was local bus with 429 miles while train, walking, long distance bus, taxi and other had the range from 13 miles to 450 miles per person per year.

Things changed a little bit in year 2000 when averagely one person traveled by car and by train raised the distance up to 4,806 miles and 366 miles per year, respectively. The same as long distance bus when it got up to 366 miles per person per year. In contract, the average distance of walking, bicycle and local bus were all decreased to 237 miles, 41 miles and 274 miles, respectively.
