Writing task 1: Table

The figure shows the data on the sales of Fairtrade – labelled coffee and bananas in 1994 and 2004 in 5 European nations.

Overall, it is clear that the number of sales in 2004 was higher than in 1999 in both coffee and bananas, exception in bananas of Sweden and Denmark. Additionally, UK and Switzerland were the highest market value in both types of agricultural products in 1999 and 2004.

In Fairtrade coffee, the highest income was UK in 1999 at 1.5 millions of euros and followed by Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium and Sweden at 3, 1.8, 1 and 0.8 respectively. While the orders of sale of of coffee in 5 regions remained unchanged, the profit of UK in 2004 was about 13 times than in 1999, Switzerland was double and 3 nations Denmark, Belgium and Sweden slightly changed.

In Fairtrade bananas, the sale of Switzerland increased dramatically from 15 to 47 millions of euros between 1999 and 2004. Upward trend was seen in the yield of UK, and Belgium bananas with deference at 4,5 and 3,4 millions euros respectively. And in last 2 countries, the total number of money from bananas went down in Sweden and Denmark, at about 1 millions euros.
