IELTS Writing Task 1. Please Give Me Some Feedback This

The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The table shows data about how customers in five different countries spent in three major categories, which are food/beverages/tobacco, fashion and entertainment/education, in the year 2002.

Overall, it can be seen that customers in all of the given countries shared the same habit of spending. Food, drinks and tobacco always made up the largest among three segments, followed by fashion items then leisure and education.

Sustenance together with tobacco contributed more than a quarter of consumer expenditure in Turkey and Ireland. These 2 countries also shared the relatively similar percentage in fashion industry, being at 6.63% and 6.43% respectively. In addition, consumers in Turkey spent 4.35% of their budget on leisure and education, which was twice larger than that of Ireland and was also the highest rate in this category.

In comparison, Spain, Italy and Sweden had lower proportion of spending in sustenance and tobacco, with only 18.8% at most and 15.77% at least. Nonetheless, the fashion sector accounted for 9% in Italy, being the highest rate among the studied countries while that of Sweden was at 5.4%, being the lowest. Expenditure in leisure activities and education of Spain was the least, being 1.98%.
