The bar chart illustrates information about the proportion of people who played 9 different sports in New Zealand in 2002.

Overall, boys was attracted by sports more than girls almost all the kind of sports surveyed. Meanwhile, the percentage of girls who interested in netball was highest in all the kinds of sport mentioned in question.

The proportion of boys who liked playing soccer was about 24%, while the figure for girls was much lower, around 5%. In addition, cricket, martial arts, tennis, basketball, and are much more preferred by boys than girls, the figures for boys were approximately 10%, 9%, 8%, 7% and respectively. Likewise, the other sports also attracted boys more than girls in New Zealand. Boys’ involvement in this activity was nearly 18%, whereas the percentage of girls who were keen on other sports was under 10%

However, the percentage of girls playing netball reached a peak of 26%, whereas the figure for boys was just under 1%. Beside, swimming spent a significantly higher proportion on girls and boys, which accounted for about 23% and 14% respectively. Moreover, around 5% of girls interested in athletics, compared to about 14% of boys.
