The given pie charts indicate the number of working people in three different sectors namely manufacturing, sales and services in Town A and B between 1960 and 2010.
Overall, while workforce in manufacturing had an upward trend, the quantity of employees in sales witnessed a sharp decrease in both two areas.
In 1960, the proportion of people working in manufacturing in Town A and B accounted for at 29% and 10% respectively. However, in 2010 the figures increased noticeably to 64% in Town A and 25% in Town B. In contrast, an impressive 70% of people worked in sales in Town B in 1960, prior to a significant fall to 53% in 2010. Similarly, this category comprised only 41% in Town A in 1960 and then declined a half to 20% after 50 years.
Regarding services, the rate of workers in Town A was recorded at 30% in 1960, followed by a remarkable decrease to 16% in 2010. Meanwhile, the figure in Town B rose from 20% to 22% over the period of 50 years.
