The charts illustrate the proportion of electricity produced from three different sources in four countries between 2003 and 2008.
It is clear that fossil fuel was by far the most popular source of energy in Vietnam and India while that of Sweden and Morocco was hydro power. Also, Morocco and Vietnam were the two countries which did not use nuclear power to generate electricity.
As can be seen from the charts, 82 percent of India's electricity was generated from fossil fuel in comparison with only 4 percent in Sweden. By contrast, the proportion of electricity produced from nuclear power in Sweden was 44 percent, eleven times as much as that of India. Finally, while hydro power generated over half of Sweden's total energy, this figure for India was significantly lower with only 14 percent.
Looking at the other nations, the percentage of electricity produced from fossil fuel in Morocoo was 5 percent, compared to that of Vietnam with 56 percent. However, while hydro power was the main source of energy in Morocco which generated 95 percent of the country's total electricity, this figure for Vietnam was only 44 percent.
