The pie chart below shows the main reasons why agricultural land becomes less productive. The table shows how these causes affected three regions of the world during the 1990s.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
MY REPORT
The pie chart provided the breakdown of the reasons that made agricultural land become more unproductive in the 1990s. The four categories were measured in percentages. There was also a table of number about these reasons for three specific regions North America, Europe and Oceania (except the other reasons).
Overall, Europe was the region that contributed the most to the deforestation and over-cultivation and its percentages was a lot bigger than the other two regions. However, Oceania made up the biggest part of the over-grazing problem, not Europe.
First, there was about one-third (30%) that the land degradation was caused by deforestation and Europe accounted for about 9.8% in this problem. Second, over-grazing was the biggest segment with 35% and Europe was a part with 7.7%. And over-cultivation reason made up 28% ( just less than over-grazing 2%) of the pie chart and Oceania almost equalized the half of it (11.3%).
Next, in the other regions, there were very little percentages in these ones. For instance, in deforestation, there was just about 0.2% and 1.7% in North America and Oceania, respectively. Furthermore, Oceania didn’t make up any part of the over-cultivation problem. Lastly, Europe just accounted for 5.5% in over-grazing problem and this number decreased by 4% in North America.
Thanks for helping me.
