IELTS WRITING TASK 1 - MIXED GRAPH AND TABLE

The graph and table below show the average monthly temperatures and the average number of hours of sunshine per year in three major cities.


The data provides that average temperatures per month and the number of annual hours of sunshine in three main metropolises.

Overall, it is clearly seen that while London and New York reach their peaks around July and August, Sydney hits its lowest point at the same period.

According to the graph, the pattern of temperatures of London and New York looks similar, although New York is greater in the level of warmth and cold. Sydney never undergoes the temperatures which is below 15’C, and has the hottest weather occurring at the beginning and ending of every year. In contrast, London and New York both have the temperatures around 5’C and 10’C in January and December.

It can be seen from the table that total hours of sunshine in New York, which are 2525 hours, are the highest figure. Sydney is the second city has the big amount of time when sun shines per year - 2473 hours. Obviously, London is the tertiary city with 1180 hours shining annually.
