Ielts writing task 1 (line graph)

The graph below shows population figures for India and China since the year 2000 and predicted population growth up until 2050.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

MY REPORT

The line graph gives information about the number of the population of 2 countries : China and India between the year 2000 and 2050. The unit that was used in this graph was in billions of residents.

Overall, in the past the population of China was higher than India a lot. However, after the year 2030, India’s population will be higher than China because the number of residents in China will tend to decrease and in India will rise up.

First, in the year 2000, the population in China and India was about 1.26 billion and 1 billion, respectively. After 10 years, the gap between the number of the residents these two nations has been declined and it was approximately 150 millions people compared to 260 millions people in the first year. This difference will be continuously decreased and in 2020, the population of China was approximately 1.41 billion (higher than India just about 100 millions people).

Next, the number of residents of 2 two countries will be almost the same (about 1.45 billion people). From this year, China’s population will begin to decline as opposed to the increasing of India. In the next 10 years, the population of India was approximately 1.53 billion, higher than China’s population about 100 millions people. In the last year of the period, the gap between India and China’ population will be twice as the year 2040.
