MY REPORT
The bar chart provides information about the percentages of boys and girls that played the most popular sports included: Cricket, athletics, martial arts, basketball, tennis, netball, soccer, swimming and other in New Zealand in the year 2002.
Overall, most of the sports had the proportions of boys were higher than girls, and this was usually appeared in the strong sports. But there were still some sports that the girls liked playing more than boy like: Athletic, netball and swimming. Especially in netball, there were almost none of boys that attended this sport meanwhile the girls had the very high percentages of it. About the other sports, boys still attended more than girls.
Firstly, the sports that boys attended much more than girl comprised cricket, martial arts and soccer. Each of these had the percentages of girls were about 0.5%, 2%, 5% respectively while the boys had the proportions were approximately 10%, 8% and 23% respectively. Especially in soccer, the number of boys was more than four times of girls. Secondly, the only two sports that boys participated more than girls were basketball and tennis but the gap between them were not too differential (just about 3% for basketball and 2% for tennis) although these two ones were really tough too.
Next, about the athletic, the percentages of the girls that participated was more than boys approximately 1.5%. The most difference between girls and boys in this bar chart was in netball. We can see that the proportion of boys in this sport was the low-point (about 5%). By contrast, the percentages of girls in this sport was the highest in this chart too (approximately 25%). Last but not least, in the swimming sport the difference was quite big with about 17% for boys and 22% for girls.
