IELTS writing task 1

Pls help advise for my essay with thanks.

Topics: The graph shows the percentage of 15 year olds with low literacy (reading and writing) levels in four countries. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line chart indicates the proportion of 15 year olds with poor literacy rates in Austria, Denmark, Ireland and Sweden from 2000 to 2009.

It is clear that there was a overall upward trend in the percentages of low literacy levels of 15 year old in the period shown except for Denmark. Moreover, the figure for Austria was the highest throughout a later half of the period.

When it comes to Austria and Denmark, the percentages started at 14% and 18% respectively. While Austria witnessed a dramatic increase in the proportion of 15 year olds with low literacy before reaching a peak at 28 % in 2009, that of Denmark decreased gradually by 5 % over 9 years and ended with the lowest point at 15%.

Moving to Ireland, the figure remained unchanged during the first 3 years, then it climbed slightly before growing rapidly to 17% in 2009. Similarly, that of Sweden began at 17% in 2000, and then it experienced a steady growth and finished with the same percentage of Ireland in 2009.
