It is clear that, the percentage of elderly people increased in all 3 countries by 25%, over the period shown.
In 1940, USA had the highest aging population by 10% to a peak of 15% in 1980. While Japan had the lowest proportion of elderly people by 5% and decrease gradually until 1990. Sweden overtook the other two countries' elderly population in 1995 by about 14%.
In around 2030, Japan's figure saw a dramatic rise to the peak of around 28% in 2040. The other two countries' aging population continue to gone up to 25% and 23% in Sweden and USA respectively.
