IELTS WRITING TASK 1
The line graph illustrates the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted by a person in four different countries, namely United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal from 1967 to 2007.
Overall, the amount of carbon dioxide a person emits of four countries fluctuated over 40 years. In addition, the United Kingdom had the highest carbon footprint overall, while Portugal had the lowest.
In 1967, each person in the United Kingdom emitted the most carbon dioxide emissions of the four countries, which was about 11. After 40 years, the amount of gas fell to 9. Besides, Sweden in the first 10 years increased by about 2 , but then carbon dioxide emissions fell sharply over the next 30 years, by about 5.
Portugal grew rapidly from 1967 to 1997, increasing by about 4. Then it increased insignificantly in carbon, still between 5 and 6. Similarly, Italy also increased in the first 30 years, from 4 to 8. But 10 years later, the amount of carbon remained.
