The two maps compare the changes in the layout of a town in two given years: 1910 and 1950.
Overall, many alterations had been made in the town of Langley. The Townhouses were replaced by the flats and many stores were constructed after 40 years.
In 1910, there was a factory in the town near Sherman Street. After forty years, it was demolished and Sherman Mansions was built to replace the old factory. The wastelands found in 1910 disappeared in 1950 since they were used to construct a laundry and cafe in 1950. No changes are found in Jordan Street after the period shown.
In 1950, a new road called “New Land” was opened. The new road was located adjacent to a children’s play area, which was situated in the lower right corner of Sherman Park. Three stores were built in the South West of the town in 1950. The railway line and the railway workers’ cottages were removed after 40 years.
