The following are two filter systems. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The given diagrams compare different steps of purifying water by two types of filter systems: cross section filter and outdoor filling and storage system.

Overall, it is crystal clear that a simple outdoor filling and storage system requires more steps to purify water than the cross section one. The outcome of both systems is clean water and this will be used by households or other purposes.

The first system is a 200ml metal container which has three sections in total. At first, dirty water goes straight into the sand section through a small pipe in the upper right corner of the container. Dirty water is filtered by going through the sand filter, then a stone layer and finally gets through the pipe holes. After passing three layers of the purifier, clean water comes out by an outlet pipe in the lower left corner of the system.

A simple outdoor filling and storage system starts with untreated water in a storage which has a tap to control the flow of the water. Then the water is sent straight into a sand storage and is filtered in here. Eventually, the water flows directly to the final storage before being used by the households.
