The two pie charts give the percentage of online shopping sales for retail sector in terms of four different types – Electronics and Appliance, food and beverage, home furnishings, video games in Canada between 2005 and 2010.
Overall, the percentage of online sales for both Electronics and Appliance, and home furnishings decreased during the period shown. By contrast, the figure for the other two sectors went up.
In 2005, the proportion of internet sales for electronic and application was the highest. This figure then slightly fell to 30% in 2010. Similarly, Canada witnessed a considerable decline in the percentage of online sales for home furnishings from 25% in 2005 to 15% in 2010.
Meanwhile, there was a sharp increase in the proportion of sale online for food and beverage from 22% in 2005 to 32% in 2010, making the highest percentage in this year. The proportion of online sales for video game was much lower, reaching the percentage of 18%. This figure then went down to 23% in 2010.
