The table describes transport usages of the passengers in Europe in terms of mileage during a decade and a prediction in ten years later. Overall, the public transport made up the highest percentage of total distance.

In fact, the bus in Europe was the most popular option for each passenger over the ten year period, but slightly decreasing in distance from 56 thousand miles in 1995 to 50 thousand miles in 2005. This is in contrast with the number of miles covered by train, rising by 10 miles from 38 miles to 48 miles, and was predicted to reach 60 thousand miles with the highest level of traveling distance in 2015. At the same time, the mileage from using plane was projected to be 10 times more than that in the year of 1995 with only 2 miles. Therefore, there was a significant increase of 35 miles in total travel distance over the given period.

The bicycle continuously maintained its lowest position with only 2 miles in 2015 after halving from 2 thousand miles in 1995 to 1 thousand miles in 2005. Moreover, the slow climb of 3 miles in using the motorbike, the second lowest one, was recorded for the period from 1995 to 2015.
