IELTS WRITING, please help me to check my essay.

Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

People have various different views about selecting subjects at university. Some people think that students should be free to choose their subjects that they are interested in, whereas others believe that it is better to learn subjects that will be valuable in the future.

On the one hand, people think that students should have the privilege to choose whatever subjects they desire. In my opinion, every student has talent in a particular field, allowing students to have choice in their own area of study can help them to do their best and develop their skill. Moreover, if they had their own choice they would have more motivation and passion to follow their class and get a good result. Besides, nowadays, employers value creative and critical thinking skills, they need employees who can contribute ideas, analyze and solve problems. For example, as I know, in Vietnam graduates can get jobs that absolutely don’t relate to the courses they learnt before. Because apart from showing they are master in this area, they also prove their ability to develop other skills quickly and that they are not like robots who are programed to do particular thing.

On the other hand, people believe that students should learn major course like medicine, technology and engineering because these courses are more beneficial to society in the future. From my point of view, these courses provide students with specific knowledge and skills helping to build logical thinking making it more easy to cope with dilemmas in the future. In addition, competition for a jobs tend to sharply increase and companies will hire the most talented. That’s why graduates with engineering degree will find it easy to get a top job, have higher job prospects and be highly paid. It is an obvious advantage for university graduates.

To conclude, it is difficult to say what is the best because both arguments have their own advantages, but for me, I have a bias in favor of students have the right to choose whatever subjects they want. Because I was a student, I know that giving them able to select their subjects helping them study more effectively.
