With the explosion of the internet, everything has been turned into technology, and storing knowledge is no exception. Therefore, people normally preserve information on the internet rather than in books. In my point of view, this trend brings more benefits than drawbacks.
On the one hand, keeping information online has two main advantages that are convenient and huge and diverse storage capacity. Firstly, it is easily to absorb like the user can bring, use, save and duplicate. Moreover, with the help of search engines like Google or Firefox, people can access various types of topics with a couple of mouse clicks immediately and anywhere. Secondly, data online is stored different formats (like video, picture, document, sound, and so on) and platforms (Facebook, Youtube), which enables consumers access the information more effectively.
On the other hand, we cannot deny the positives of storing knowledge in books, but there are more downsides than upsides. The main drawback of book storage is that people spend huge amounts of time leafing through the pages to search information. This reduces the efficiency in finding information and takes time-consuming compared to saving online. Another disadvantage is that using paper in order to keep knowledge is not environmentally friendly and it wastes huge amounts of money and area to buy and preserve intactly.
In conclusion, although many people have recently been troubled when there are much fake news and sources of information, online storage is still suitable in the digital age. Consequently, I think the advantages outweigh the drawback.
