Nowadays, many animal species are being extinct. Some people believe that countries and individuals must solve this problem, others believe that human beings are more important. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

People hold conflicting views about whether money should be spent on protecting endangered animals or on improving human living standard. In my opinion, I believe that human beings are more crucial.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why government should prevent animals from being extinct. Firstly, the loss of animals can lead to a significant decrease in econimic growth. As animals die out, the preservation sites are pulled down, tourists can no longer come to visit. Take Saola Preservation Site in Viet Nam as an example. As soon as the disappearance of this animal in 2005, the local community lost 23% tourists and 1.52 billon VND gaining from tourism sector. Secondly, the demise of animals can upset the balance of nature, change the ecosystem completely, and may cause other creatures to suffer. As the result, biodiversity is being destroyed.

On the other hand, I believe that local and national authorities should allocate money on improving human life, rather than that of animals. Nowadays, poverty and illiteracy are enormous problems affacting largely on people on international scale. Such fields as education, health and social services should be drawn attention to by the government. Another reason is that, I believe human being is the direct factor that contribute to the development of economy. Once those has been well-educated and well-trained, they can devote their abilities and efforts to make their nation prosperous.

For the reasons mentioned above, I am of the opinion that human development is worth being invested on since they play more integral part in a country growth.
