The group of pie chart and table depict causes of land degradation in three regions and though the world. There are a wide range of reasons that have affected on agricultural land, but in particular, three main factors contribute to the high proportion namely over-grazing, deforestation and over-cultivation.

It can be seen that the highest proportion is attributed to over-grazing activities with 35% all over the world. Deforestation and over-cultivation are also the root causes with respectively 30% and 28%. There is remaining 7% for other reasons.

Meanwhile, researching three regions can see that the highest as well as the lowest rate of causes is different by region. The leading area is Europe with 23% totally land degraded. To be more specific, the rate of deforestation is the highest in Europe and far higher than in North America and Oceania. Another factor is over-cultivation also contributing significantly to the proportion. Next, land deterioration in Oceania is just affected by deforestation and over-grazing activities. The over-grazing rate is noticeable in total and far higher than the remaining regions. Finally, in North America, there are lower rates in all causes. Among them, the proportion of over-cultivation is nearly two third totally.

To sum up, the main reason that deteriorates land by region and throughout the world is over-grazing. Following this, deforestation and over-cultivation also make huge effects on farm land.
