Topic: International Tourism

International tourism is now more common than ever before. Some feel that this is a positive trend, while others do not.

My essay:

Global tourism has already become a popular and huge industry in recent years. Although some people argued that the trend has some benefit repercussions, I am of the opinion that it has more negative impacts compared to positive ones.

On the one hand, it is believed that international tourism would be beneficial for many parts of the world. Firstly, from an economic prospective, this trend will promote the image of the country with captivating natural scenery, distinct cultural features to international tourists as a way of contributing to a prosperous nation. A good example of this is that the political leaders will put more resources into improving infrastructure, environmental issues, welfare in this area. Secondly, the more tourists come in large numbers, the more job opportunities will create for local people, thus, it brings more income and funds for them.
On the other hand, the negative impacts of expansion of international tourism should not be neglected. As you know, the ecosystem has been damaged by mass tourism these days. To illustrate, one of the most popular destinations in the world is Great Barrier Reef in Australia- the countless boats, divers and snorkellers that have visited the reef over the past few decades have swiftly destroyed vast sections of coral. Nonetheless, international tourists produce a great deal of waste that bring a threat to the natural environment. According to a study of environmental consultancy Eunomia Research & Consulting that over 80 percent of 12.2 million tonnes of plastic entering the sea every year.

By way of conclusion, i once again reaffirm my position that the potential dangers of global tourism are more a remarkable than the positive impacts on human life.

Thanks for your kind help.
