TASK1

The bar chart illustrates the literacy rates between males and females in six different religions in 2000.

Overall, men generally had more chances to be educated than women in these areas. While the literacy rates of both males and females were the lowest in developed nations, the percentages of people who could not read and write were the highest in South Africa.

To begin with, in developed countries, the literacy rate of men was a bit smaller than that of women, just one percent compared to two percent respectively. These figures were much higher in Latin America, where there were one out of ten illiterate males and about 12% illiterate females. It is also noticable that the number of women able to read and write in 100 women in East asia nearly doulbled that of Latin America, at 20%.

At the same time, the disparity between the rates of uneducated men and women in the three remaining religions was remarkable. South Asia recorded the leading point of over 55% illiterate females and more than a third for men. Similarly, Arab state also witnessed a gap of more than 20 percent of literacy rates for two sexes, 53% for men and 29% for women.

Task 2

In today knowledged- based society, the young are imposed the expectation of being achieving overwhelming academic performances. While some people argue that non- academic should be deleted from curriculum, I am convinced that children should be educated both academic and physical subjects as well as other subjects to be able to develop comprehensively.

Firstly, children who only concentrate on certain academic subjects might be under higher pressure of study at schools. Because they do not have enough time to get relaxation or experience different fields such as playing sports or out door activites which are often seen in physical education. As a result, they might find their academic edification boring one day, then not interested in following them any more. This is one of the culprits that result in their lower attention to lessons, or even their scares of studying. Therefore nothing can be made sure that they can finish courses with flying colors.

Moreover, it is important for students to be trained some pratical skills at non academic classes so that they can accumulate knowledge about outside of books and bring out their potential abilities. For example, if they take part in section of how to cook, they can take care of themselves when they stay alone by preparing meals on their own instead of their parents. In addition, some students find this subject interesting and discover that they are passionate for that to become master chefs in the future. This fact demonstrates that they still could be get successful career based on their intersest but only hypothetical subjects.

In conclusion, non-academic subjects take an integral part in the syllabus to contribute the growth of children. That is why it is unacceptable to force students to merely pay attention to academic studies.
